Year-round, we host guests who are here to enjoy the history, culture, and natural beauty of the Hudson Valley. Just this past month, we have met travelers who are in town for a broad variety of reasons. A group of guests from Long Island, who have visited presidential libraries all over the country, visited the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum (and raved that it was their favorite so far!). A family from Los Angeles, celebrating the new year with relatives here in Hopewell Junction, took advantage of their stay to shop in the artist enclave of Beacon and to visit the Dia:Beacon art museum, which is housed in an old factory building right by the Beacon train station (it’s only a 75-minute ride into Manhattan!). A couple of hikers finishing up their time on the Appalachian Trail stopped in for a good night’s sleep in a real bed and a hot shower (we even do hikers’ laundry before they head back out!). I think my favorite story is the couple who came down from the Berkshires to check out “Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience” at the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in nearby Westchester County. It’s only here until January 22, and they both said they’d definitely recommend it to fellow Harry Potter fans!
As you can probably tell, we make a real effort to know all of our guests. When my sisters and I were younger, our mom, Beverly, ran a bed & breakfast in the town of Rhinebeck, and one of the most important lessons we learned was to welcome all of our visitors and make them feel like a part of the family. We loved hearing of everyone’s experiences while they were in town, and I like to believe they appreciated feeling so comfortable during their stay. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that many of our guests here at Curry Estate are repeat customers.
Several of our repeat customers are currently taking advantage of our Winter Wonderland Getaway Package, good through March 31. From Wednesday to Saturday, stay one night or two, and you will receive either a $100 or $150 credit toward dinner at our restaurant, champagne and goodies upon your arrival, and continental breakfast. Whether you’re inspired to visit one of our many local attractions or just want to take a break from the daily grind, consider us your home away from home!
